Searching
You can search all collections or just a single collection. Expand or limit your search by selecting preferences and using the techniques below.
- Boolean searching finds exact matches for words - combining or excluding terms by using operators such as AND, OR, NOT.
- Fuzzy (or Pattern) searching looks for words with similar spellings or appearance. Fuzzy searching is especially useful for locating words in documents where the image is unclear (such as in handwritten letters) or when there are variations in spelling.
- Concept searching includes your keyword term and its synonyms (for example, searching the word “meeting” will also retrieve documents containing words like “gathering,” “assembly” and “conference”).
- Field searching allows you to use specific data fields (such as Subject, Title or Document Type) to narrow your search. This can be used alone or in combination with a keyword search.
